Qatar condemns Israeli settlers' attacks on villages in the occupied West Bank

Doha, 25 July (KUNA) -- Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the attacks by Israeli settlers on several villages in the occupied West Bank, which are an extension of the Israeli occupation’s policies aimed at escalating violence against the brotherly Palestinian people and constitute a blatant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement on Saturday that these crimes reflect the occupation government’s approach of enabling settlers to commit further violations and attacks under the protection of the Israeli occupation army and security apparatus, and called on it to fulfill its obligations under international law and international humanitarian law, put an end to the settlers’ attacks, and hold their perpetrators accountable. The ministry urged the international community to take immediate action to halt the repeated attacks by the Israeli occupation, provide protection for the brotherly Palestinian people, hold accountable those responsible for these escalating attacks, and ensure that they do not escape punishment. The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state with its capital in East Jerusalem, within the 1967 borders.
