(Owaidou) Reports KWD 25 Million Net Profit in First Half of 2026

Kuwait City, July 25 (KUNA) -- Ooredoo Kuwait announced today on Saturday that it achieved net profits of 25 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $80.6 million) with earnings per share of 49 fils for the first half of 2026, compared to profits of 42 million dinars (approximately $135.4 million) with earnings per share of 83 fils for the first half of 2025, representing a 41 percent decline.

In a press statement, the company’s chairman, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Thani, said, “Ooredoo Kuwait Group delivered strong operational and financial performance during the first half of 2026, reflecting the resilience of its diversified business and the continued positive momentum in its key markets.” Consolidated revenues rose by 8 percent year-on-year to reach 398 million dinars (approximately $1.03 billion).

Al Thani added that, looking ahead, the group remains confident in the soundness of its strategic direction and its long-term growth prospects. It will continue to focus on developing and enhancing its customer offerings and investing in a measured manner in its networks and digital capabilities, while maintaining a disciplined approach to operational efficiency and optimal capital utilization.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer Abdulaziz Al-Babtain stated that Ooredoo Kuwait’s operations demonstrated strong operational efficiency and a clear ability to maintain profitability levels despite challenges related to competition and the rapidly changing needs of customers. The company’s revenues reached 131 million dinars (approximately $422 million) in the first half of 2026.

Al-Babtain noted that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 5 percent to reach 47 million dinars (approximately $151.5 million) in the first half of the current year, compared to 45 million dinars (approximately $145 million) during the same period last year.
