US President confirms that China and Russia will not provide any weapons to Iran "under any circumstances"

Washington, July 24 (KUNA) – U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed on Friday that China and Russia have pledged to him not to sell or provide Iran with any weapons “under any circumstances.” Trump added in a post on his platform, Truth Social, that Chinese President Xi Jinping informed him during his recent visit to Beijing that he “will not give or sell weapons to Iran under any circumstances,” noting that this also includes Chinese companies. He continued, “Given the nature of our relationship, I trust his word, and I am also providing him with very significant services,” without specifying what those services entail. Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin similarly informed him that he would not sell weapons to Iran, adding that President Putin “understands that I do not sell weapons directly to Ukraine, but to NATO countries.” Trump expressed confidence that China and Russia are not involved in selling weapons to Iran, warning of “very bad” consequences for them if they were to do so. Trump’s remarks come as the United States continues to carry out regular airstrikes against Iran, which it says are in response to attacks launched by Tehran in the Strait of Hormuz and other attacks in the region.
