The occupation decides to carry out an intensive assault in the West Bank

Ramallah, July 24 (KUNA) -- Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister, Israel Katz, ordered the Israeli occupation forces today, Friday, to carry out intensified military operations in villages and towns in the West Bank, reinforce their presence there, and establish additional military checkpoints.

An occupation statement said the measures include demolishing the home of a martyr from the town of Tal, who was killed today in a settler attack on the outskirts of the town, and accelerating the legalization of agricultural outposts established by settlers on Palestinian lands in the West Bank without a decision from the occupation government. The statement also announced a decision to establish new settlement outposts.

Four Palestinians were killed and four others were injured by occupation forces and settlers’ fire in Tal, southwest of Nablus, as they confronted heavily armed settlers and the occupation army, which provided them with protection. This raises the number of martyrs in the West Bank since yesterday to eight.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams responded today to seven gunshot injuries in the town of Far’ata, near Qalqilya city. One victim is in critical condition after settlers attacked the village and opened fire on Palestinians who resisted the attack.

Israeli occupation forces raided the city of Nablus, stormed one of its hospitals, and arrested two wounded patients, while deploying military reinforcements to the hospital’s perimeter, according to Palestinian security sources.

The occupation closed military checkpoints and gates across the West Bank, while dozens of settlers took to main streets, carrying out attacks on Palestinians. Dozens of them also gathered at the entrances to several villages and towns.
