Fire Authority Launches "Safe Summer" Awareness Campaign to Prevent Accidents and Enhance Community Safety
Kuwait City, July 24 (KUNA) — The General Fireforce launched its summer awareness campaign today, Friday, under the slogan “A Safe Summer with the Fireforce,” at The Avenues Mall, aiming to raise public awareness of the risks and causes of fires and drowning incidents, which tend to increase during the summer season, and to enhance community safety.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Force Spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib said the campaign will feature a variety of programs throughout the summer, including exhibitions, lectures, maritime tours, and visits to shopping malls, government entities, and private institutions to provide guidance on safety requirements, fire and accident prevention measures, and proper procedures for handling emergencies.
Brigadier General Al-Gharib explained that the campaign aligns with the Fireforce’s commitment to raising the level of preventive awareness among community members, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and property and reducing the occurrence of accidents.
He noted that the campaign will also focus on raising awareness of the importance of adhering to safety procedures at recreational and maritime sites and in homes, highlighting the main causes of fires and accidents and ways to avoid them, as well as disseminating preventive guidelines to enhance community preparedness.
He called on the public to engage with the campaign’s activities, benefit from its awareness programs, and comply with safety guidelines and instructions, emphasizing their crucial role in mitigating risks and safeguarding lives and property during the summer season.
In this context, Brigadier General Al-Gharib stated that the total number of reports handled by Fireforce teams across various governorates from January 1 to March 31, 2026, amounted to 3,633 reports, encompassing fires, rescue operations, other incidents, and general services, including 750 fire incidents between residential and non-residential locations and transportation vehicles across the country’s various governorates.
