Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with British Foreign Secretary

Doha, 24 (KUNA) — Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held talks today, Friday, with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting took place during the Qatari Prime Minister’s reception of Miliband in the Qatari capital, Doha, where he congratulated him on assuming his new post. The statement noted that the discussion reviewed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region. According to the statement, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized the need for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy and to implement the agreements reached under the understanding between the United States and Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability.
