Kuwait Youth National Team Loses to Saudi Arabia (23-25) in the 19th Asian Handball Championship

Kuwait City, July 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s men’s handball team lost to their Saudi counterparts 25-23 in the quarter-finals of the 19th Asian Youth Handball Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Championship in North Macedonia. Kuwaiti youth players, known as the “Blue Hands,” made clear efforts to gain an advantage in the first half, but failed to do so, trailing 13-7 at the break. In the second half, the Kuwaiti team showed relative improvement, but it was not enough, and they were eliminated from the Asian Championship. As a result, Saudi Arabia advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, which kicked off in the Chinese city of Shuzhou on July 15 and will run until July 27, featuring 13 national teams. Kuwait will now play in the classification matches to determine positions from fifth to eighth, with their opponents to be decided after the conclusion of the quarter-final matches later today.
