Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The occupation’s massacre in the town of Tel al-Sultan is a renewed manifestation of the ongoing Nakba
Ramallah, April 24 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Tall on Friday represents a renewed manifestation of the ongoing Nakba (catastrophe) suffered by the Palestinian people, reflecting the synergy of crimes between the occupation and the settlers.
In a press statement, the ministry stated that the occupation and settlers are implementing a systematic official occupation policy to serve their electoral campaigns and their eliminationist project. It explained that this policy involves giving settlers free rein to commit further crimes against civilians with the aim of exterminating, terrorizing, and displacing them, while imposing additional settler facts on the ground.
The ministry stressed that the continuation and escalation of terrorist crimes by settlers are due to the protection and impunity provided by the occupation authorities to the perpetrators, alongside continuous official incitement. These factors create an environment that nurtures and fuels settler terrorism and entrenches impunity.
Four Palestinians from the same family, including two brothers, were martyred today, and four others, three of them in critical condition, were injured by Israeli occupation forces that provided protection to settlers who attacked the outskirts of the town of Tall, south of Nablus.
This brings the number of martyrs in the West Bank since yesterday afternoon to eight, after two Palestinians were martyred by occupation fire east of Nablus, one of whom was a 16-year-old boy.
For her part, the Jerusalem Governorate announced today the martyrdom of a young man named Khalil Al-Rashq after occupation forces opened fire on him at the Shuafat checkpoint, northeast of Jerusalem. This came hours after the martyrdom of another young man, Yazen Swafita (25), east of Jenin, with his body being held by the occupation.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated in a statistical report today that 82 Palestinians were martyred in the West Bank since the beginning of this year, including 21 killed by settlers.
For his part, the occupation announced today that one settler was killed and two others, along with an occupation soldier, were injured in a shooting incident near the town of Tall.
Ministers in the occupation government, as well as settlers, have launched incitement campaigns against Palestinian towns, calling for their eradication, amid Palestinian fears that further crimes will be committed as the occupation’s election date approaches. (End) N.Q./T.M.A
