US Army begins 13th night of strikes on Iran

Washington, July 23 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday the start of a new round of strikes against Iranian military targets, marking the thirteenth consecutive night of attacks since the collapse of a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran. In a post on the social media platform X, CENTCOM stated that “U.S. forces began another night of strikes against Iranian military targets at 6:45 p.m. Eastern Time (Washington, D.C. time). This is the 13th consecutive night of strikes aimed at holding Iran accountable and reducing threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.” This new wave of strikes follows regular attacks launched by the U.S. military two weeks ago after the breakdown of a diplomatic memorandum of understanding with Iran. Iran has carried out ballistic missile and drone attacks that resulted in the deaths of three U.S. soldiers and injured approximately 100 others since the 7th of this month. (End) A.S.J./ H.S.S.
