Arab League condemns Houthi militia attack on Saudi tanker and Iranian aggression against regional states

Cairo, July 23 (KUNA) – The Arab League firmly rejected today, Thursday, the brazen Iranian aggressions targeting Gulf states and Jordan, as well as the Houthi militia’s attack on a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea. It stressed that these attacks constitute a violation of international law and a threat to maritime navigation security and regional stability.

In a statement, the League called on the Houthi militias to immediately halt all actions threatening international navigation, and urged Iran to cease its transgressions and return to engaging in the negotiation process, which it described as the only means to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable resolution to the crisis.

The League welcomed the position expressed by the Gulf Cooperation Council on this matter, reaffirming Arab unity in confronting threats targeting the security of Arab states and the safety of maritime corridors.
