Kuwait Customs Chief and His Deputy for Border Crossings Inspect Al-Abdali Border Crossing Following Attack by Drones

Kuwait City, July 23 (KUNA) – Kuwait Customs General Administration Director Yusuf Al-Nuwayfi conducted an inspection visit to the Abdali border crossing following a malicious attack carried out today, Thursday, by drones that caused material damage without any reported human casualties.

In a press statement, Customs stated that Al-Nuwayfi and his deputy for border affairs, customs research and investigation, Saleh Al-Omar, inspected the damage sustained by the Abdali Customs Center and listened to briefings from field officials regarding the impact of the attacks and the measures taken.

The statement added that Customs continues to carry out its duties at all border crossings and is taking necessary measures to safeguard border security and ensure the continuity of customs services, in coordination with relevant authorities. Al-Nuwayfi commended the efforts of Customs personnel in fulfilling their duties and maintaining operational efficiency despite the exceptional circumstances.

Earlier, Kuwait Ministry of Defense spokesperson Colonel Saud Al-Atwan stated that the Abdali border crossing was subjected to renewed hostile drone attacks on Thursday evening, resulting in material damage but no human casualties, praise be to God.

Colonel Al-Atwan clarified in a statement at the time that competent authorities immediately initiated necessary procedures and handled the situation in coordination with relevant entities. He affirmed that the Armed Forces continue to carry out their missions and duties with high efficiency, implementing all necessary measures to protect the nation’s borders and preserve its security and stability.
