Brussels, July 23 (KUNA) -- The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the European Union and the United Kingdom in the fields of foreign policy, security, and defense, as well as a number of international issues of shared interest.
In a post on the social media platform X on Thursday, Kallas said that “cooperation between the European Union and the United Kingdom in these areas has never been more important than it is now,” pointing to strong momentum to deepen and accelerate the security and defense partnership between the two sides.
She added that during her meeting with Lammy in Manila, ahead of the Regional Forum of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), they discussed support for Ukraine, freedom of navigation, the situation in the Middle East, and the broader geopolitical landscape.
