Kuwait Council for Persons with Disabilities and Kuwait University Explore Ways to Enhance Cooperation to Support Persons with Disabilities in Academic and Training Fields

Kuwait City, July 22 (KUNA) – The Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities hosted a coordination meeting today with the University of Kuwait to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and develop initiatives supporting persons with disabilities in academic and training fields.
In a statement, the Authority said the meeting, chaired by Director General Dr. Dalal Al-Othman and attended by sector deputies, along with a delegation from the university, focused on ways to prepare the university environment for students with disabilities, thereby promoting their integration and enabling them to continue their educational journey in a suitable learning environment.
It added that the participants discussed developing curricula for disability-related disciplines to align with the needs of persons with disabilities and to strengthen the preparation of specialized national cadres in accordance with best practices.
The Authority noted that the meeting also reviewed a study on providing appropriate materials and communication aids for persons with disabilities, which would facilitate their access to services and information and enhance effective communication with them.
It reaffirmed the Authority’s continued coordination with the University of Kuwait to implement joint initiatives that contribute to developing services for persons with disabilities and promoting their integration and empowerment across various fields. (End) S.L.M.
