His Highness the Prime Minister sponsors and attends the National Honoring Ceremony for National Team Champions, Players and Players of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Seasons

Kuwait City, July 22 (KUNA) -- Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Ministry of State for Youth and Sports Affairs hosted today the National Honoring Ceremony for champions of the national teams, both male and female, for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre. His Highness the Prime Minister honored outstanding players from various Kuwaiti sports federations, committees, unions, and clubs.
In a press statement after the ceremony, His Highness affirmed that the achievements of national team champions serve as a source of pride and honor, reflecting the determination and resolve demonstrated by Kuwaiti youth in their distinguished efforts to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various international sporting arenas. He noted that this recognition acknowledges the significant efforts exerted by athletes, as well as technical and administrative staff, which yielded results and accomplishments that elevated Kuwait’s name at regional and international sporting events. His Highness emphasized that the government places great importance on Kuwaiti sports and is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue excelling and achieving further successes.
He added that investing in young national talents constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and honor in the achievements of Kuwaitis who have attained such high rankings.
In his address, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma stressed that honoring our athletes today is a tribute to their effort, dedication, and a message of pride in the accomplishments we all cherish. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing support for athletes and providing an appropriate environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and realize their aspirations, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s standing on the sporting stage.
In his remarks, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, noted that today’s honoring of athletes is not merely a celebration, but a message of gratitude, appreciation, and pride to all athletes across all sports disciplines for their efforts and achievements, in their endeavor to raise the Kuwaiti flag at international events.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Chairwoman of the Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club, Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, along with several heads of sports federations, clubs, and committees, and senior officials of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
