Emir of Qatar Discusses Key Regional and International Developments with Syrian President

Doha, July 22 (KUNA) -- The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held talks today with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on the latest regional and international developments. The Qatari Diwan Al Diwani Al Amiri stated in a press release that the discussion took place during a phone call received by the Emir of Qatar from the Syrian President, during which the relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support and develop them were reviewed, along with the most prominent regional and international developments, particularly the developments in the Middle East region. In this regard, the Syrian President praised Qatar’s role and efforts in calming the situation and enhancing regional and international security. Both sides also emphasized the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, prioritize political solutions and dialogue, contribute to consolidating stability in the region, spare its peoples from further tensions, and push for resolving differences through diplomatic means, leading to a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace.
