Turkey condemns Houthi militia's allegations against Saudi Arabia and its threats to freedom of navigation

Istanbul, July 22 (KUNA) – Turkey today condemned baseless allegations and threats against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia made by the military spokesperson for the Houthi militia, which targeted the freedom and security of maritime navigation. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Ankara’s solidarity with Riyadh in the face of Houthi threats, stressing the urgent need to immediately halt actions and threats that endanger maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and that target maritime transport and global trade. The ministry also reiterated its call to “avoid any actions that could escalate existing tensions in the region.” (End) T.A. / M.A.
