(SANTCOM): Change of course for 8 commercial ships and disruption of others as part of the blockade on Iran

Washington, July 21 (KUNA) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that it had rerouted eight commercial vessels and halted another since the resumption of the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports. CENTCOM said in a statement that “U.S. forces, up to the 21st of this month, rerouted eight commercial ships and halted one to ensure full enforcement of the blockade on Iran.” U.S. forces had resumed the naval blockade on ships bound for Iranian ports and coastal areas, or departing from them, starting July 14, in response to the targeting of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
