Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Condemns and Denounces (Houthi) Statements Regarding Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, July 21 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hussein Ibrahim Taha on Tuesday expressed his strong condemnation and rejection of the threats issued by the (Houthi) militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, maritime security, and freedom of international trade.

In a statement, Taha said that these practices are part of a series of attacks and baseless claims launched by the (Houthi) militia against Saudi Arabia, with the latest being missile attacks on the south of the Kingdom, as well as threats targeting maritime navigation.

He affirmed that the accusations and threats issued by the Houthi military spokesperson are unacceptable and cannot be justified in any way, emphasizing that the continuous threat to maritime navigation constitutes a threat to regional and international security.

Taha renewed the Organization’s full solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability, recalling the Kingdom’s strenuous efforts and initiatives to contribute to achieving peace, security, and stability in Yemen, alongside the generous humanitarian and relief aid provided and the development projects completed for the benefit of the Yemeni people to alleviate their suffering.

Taha called for the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning Yemen and regarding the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. (End) F.N. / M.A. H.A.
