Jerusalem Governorate warns of settlers' largest mass incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Ramallah, July 21 (KUNA) -- The Jerusalem Municipality warned of escalating plans led by extremist organizations to carry out the largest mass incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during what is referred to as the “Temple Destruction Day” on Thursday. In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the municipality affirmed that what is unfolding has ceased to be merely an activity organized by extremist groups and has instead become part of the Israeli occupation’s policy aimed at imposing new facts within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and undermining its established historical and legal status, paving the way for entrenching a project of temporal and spatial partitioning. The statement clarified that field and political data monitored in recent days indicate a broad mobilization plan spearheaded by extremist organizations, aiming to set a new record for the number of incursions. It noted that incursions linked to the so-called “Temple Destruction Day” have seen a continuous escalation in recent years, a clear indicator of a graduated escalation strategy targeting the entrenchment of this day as the largest annual season for incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
