Speaker of the Arab Parliament Condemns Houthi Militia Spokesperson's Remarks on Saudi Arabia

Cairo, July 21 (KUNA) – The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, today Tuesday condemned statements by the military spokesperson for the Houthi militia, in which he accused the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of imposing a blockade on the Yemeni people and banning maritime navigation.

In a statement, Al-Yamahi described these remarks as provocative and irresponsible, ignoring the sustained efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the continuous support it provides to the Yemeni people. He affirmed the Arab Parliament’s unequivocal rejection of any offensive statements or threats targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or infringing upon its sovereignty and national security, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security.

He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to implement relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2722, ensuring the protection of freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and deterring any acts that threaten regional and international peace and security.

The Arab Parliament renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security, territorial integrity, and interests. (End) M.M. / M.A.H.A.
