India Summons Russian Chargé d'Affaires Following Attack on Commercial Ship at Ukrainian Port

New Delhi, July 21 (KUNA) -- The Indian government summoned Russian Chargé d’Affaires Vladimir Ladanov to the Ministry of External Affairs today, Tuesday, to convey its deep concern and unequivocal condemnation of the attack on the commercial vessel MV Golden Leo on July 19. In a statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs condemned the targeting of the commercial ship, which resulted in the deaths of four Indian citizens, and affirmed that such attacks undermine the safety, security, and stability of international maritime trade. The statement called on the Russian Chargé d’Affaires to convey New Delhi’s profound concern to the authorities in his country, stressing that targeting commercial shipping and the resulting loss of innocent civilian lives are unacceptable and must be avoided.
