Qatar strongly condemns repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain

Doha, July 20 (KUNA) -- Qatar strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on the territories of both Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain, deeming them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries, and a flagrant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Monday that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a serious escalation that could complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. The ministry stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks threatening the security and stability of the region, and for refraining from any measures that could widen the scope of escalation, as well as for a serious return to the path of dialogue and negotiations, and for adhering to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts. Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its support for all measures they take to safeguard their sovereignty and security. (End) S S S / M A H A
