Washington, July 20 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Monday that it had altered the course of seven commercial vessels since the resumption of the naval blockade on Iran last week, amid escalating military tensions between the two sides. The command stated in a post on the social media platform X, “As of July 20, the U.S. military has rerouted seven commercial ships and detained one vessel to prevent ships from leaving Iranian ports or entering them,” adding that its forces continue to implement blockade measures. CENTCOM reinstated the blockade late Tuesday evening after suspending it for about a month in accordance with a memorandum of understanding with Tehran, but the memorandum collapsed and military operations resumed.
