Kuwait Customs Foils Attempt to Smuggle 10 Kilograms of Marijuana

Kuwait City, July 20 (KUNA) – The Kuwait Customs General Administration announced on Monday the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana, which was professionally concealed within a shipment arriving from an Asian country in an effort to disguise it and bypass customs procedures. The Customs Administration stated in a press release that the operation was carried out in coordination with the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, during which an Asian national was apprehended while taking delivery of the shipment, and appropriate legal measures were taken against him. The Customs Administration affirmed its continued efforts to intensify inspections and surveillance at all customs checkpoints and to firmly counter attempts to smuggle prohibited substances, in order to safeguard the security and well-being of society.
