Emir of Qatar holds phone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister on regional and international developments

Doha, July 20 (KUNA) — The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, today held talks with Canada’s newly appointed Prime Minister, Mark Carney, on regional and international developments. A statement issued by the Qatari Diwan Al Amiri said the discussion took place during a phone call received by the Emir from the Canadian Prime Minister, during which he conveyed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies on the passing of the late Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him. The Emir of Qatar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Canadian Prime Minister for his feelings and sincere condolences. During the call, the two sides reviewed the cooperative relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them across various fields, as well as exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the region. The Emir of Qatar also conveyed his congratulations to the Canadian Prime Minister on Canada’s successful partnership with the United States and Mexico in hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, wishing them continued success and achievement.
