Islamabad, July 20 (KUNA) -- Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived today, Monday, in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, heading a high-level delegation on an official visit. The Pakistani Interior Ministry said in a statement that Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was present at the airport to welcome his Iranian counterpart upon his arrival. The statement added that the Iranian minister is scheduled to meet during his visit with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. In a statement upon his arrival, Momeni expressed his pleasure at meeting his Pakistani counterpart, affirming that relations between his country and Pakistan are “exemplary,” and expressing gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for their warm hospitality. For his part, the Pakistani minister expressed hope that the Iranian delegation’s visit would yield positive results benefiting both countries.
