Jordanian Foreign Ministry Summons Chargé d'Affaires at Iranian Embassy in Protest of Continued Brutal Attacks

Amman, July 19 (KUNA) — The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Amman and delivered a strongly worded protest message against the continued Iranian aggressive and unjustified attacks targeting Jordan’s territory, as well as the inflammatory and provocative statements issued by Iranian official entities regarding Jordan.

In a statement, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed that the Jordanian Foreign Ministry had requested the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires to convey a clear message to his country to immediately halt the attacks on the Kingdom. He stressed that Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens constitute a red line that cannot be violated, and emphasized the necessity of ceasing the unacceptable inflammatory rhetoric.

Al-Majali clarified that the ministry condemned and denounced the Iranian aggressive attacks, which represent a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter. He also reaffirmed Jordan’s condemnation of the Iranian aggressive attacks targeting the sister countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, expressing Jordan’s absolute solidarity with them and its unwavering support for every step they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

Al-Majali reiterated that Jordan will continue to take all available and necessary measures to safeguard the safety of its citizens, its security, and its sovereignty. (End) A.M.N. / T.A.B.
