The State of Kuwait condemns and denounces the Iranian aggression against a vital civilian facility
Kuwait City, July 19 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the culpable Iranian aggression that occurred this Sunday morning, which once again targeted a power and water desalination plant, constituting a direct assault on a vital civilian facility. The Ministry emphasized in a statement that the repeated deliberate targeting of vital and civilian infrastructure reflects a systematic aggressive approach and represents a highly dangerous escalation and a serious threat to the safety and security of civilians. It added that this constitutes a blatant violation of the provisions of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, holding Iran fully legally and morally responsible for these serious attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences. The Ministry stressed that Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and defend its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and the rules of international law.
