Lebanon: Death toll from Israeli occupation aggression rises to 4,328

Beirut, July 18 (KUNA) -- Lebanon announced on Saturday that the total number of victims of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression has risen to 4,328 killed, as Israeli aircraft continued their raids in coordination with bombing and artillery shelling operations on southern towns.

The Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the cumulative total of victims of the Israeli occupation aggression since March 2 of last year has reached 4,328 killed and 12,227 wounded.

Regarding field developments, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out a large-scale explosion near the outskirts of the town of Zouitar al-Sharqiya, towards the town of Meftoun in southern Lebanon. This coincided with a drone strike conducted by the occupation on the outskirts of Meftoun, towards Zouitar.

The agency added that artillery shelling by the occupation targeted the town of Haris in the Bint Jbeil district, amid reports of casualties. Meanwhile, an occupation drone carried out another strike on the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in the south.

Earlier on Saturday, the Lebanese Army announced that one soldier was killed and two others, an officer and a soldier, were wounded after a “suspicious object” targeted an army vehicle in the town of Mansouri, in the Sidon district in the south of the country.

Since March 2 of last year, Lebanon has witnessed a widespread military escalation and intensive aerial raids by the Israeli occupation air force on various Lebanese areas, resulting in thousands of killed and wounded, widespread destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.
