GCC Secretary-General Strongly Condemns Iran’s Treacherous Attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan

Riyadh, July 18 (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Bedaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation today, Saturday, of the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, including strikes on infrastructure and civilian facilities, which resulted in injuries to several civilian workers in Kuwait.

In a statement, Al-Bedaiwi said that Iran’s actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation and a serious violation of international law, the UN Charter, and war crimes that warrant international accountability and sanction, given the deliberate targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities in blatant disregard of all international norms and conventions, and in a continued effort to destabilize the security and stability of the region.

He affirmed that the GCC stands united with Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, and supports all measures they are taking to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while expressing his best wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured in Kuwait. (End) A.S. / N.S.
