Qatar strongly condemns repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan

Doha, July 18 (KUNA) -- Qatar strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on the territories of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing them as a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted sister states, as well as a flagrant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that targeting power and water desalination plants in Kuwait crosses all red lines and constitutes a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which reaffirmed respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these states and rejected attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure.

The ministry further stressed that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that could complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.

It underscored the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks threatening the region’s security and stability, and called for refraining from any measures that might widen the scope of escalation, while returning seriously to dialogue and negotiations and adhering to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
