Qatar strongly condemns the Iranian attack on Iraqi Kurdistan

Doha, July 17 (KUNA) -- Qatar strongly condemned today, Friday, the Iranian attack on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, deeming it a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, a fraternal country, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as well as a flagrant breach of the rules of international law. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement the necessity of sparing the region from the repercussions of unjustified attacks, continuing the path of dialogue and diplomacy, and de-escalating tensions, in a manner that contributes to consolidating security and stability at both the regional and international levels. The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and its support for all measures they undertake to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
