Saudi Arabia Condoles Algeria on Orphanage Fire Victims

Riyadh, July 17 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria over the victims of a fire that broke out at an orphanage in the municipality of El Madania, east of the capital Algiers, which resulted in multiple casualties. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with Algeria, both government and people, in this tragic incident, and conveyed its wishes for the swift recovery of all the injured. Earlier, on Thursday, Algeria’s General Directorate of Civil Protection announced that 11 people, including children, had died and 19 others were injured in a fire at the “Mouassassa El Tifla El Mas’efa” (Assistance for Childhood Institution), noting that the injured had been treated and transferred to hospitals for medical care, without disclosing the ages or identities of the victims.
