State of Kuwait condemns and denounces the reprehensible Iranian aggression against the country

Kuwait, July 17 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and outrage at the culpable Iranian aggression by missiles and drones that targeted the country today, Friday, striking one of the power and water desalination plants, resulting in a fire and damaging several electricity generation units. The Ministry affirmed in a statement that this constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as a serious breach of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). It stressed that the continuation of this aggressive approach represents a highly dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, constitutes a blatant challenge to international legitimacy, and undermines efforts aimed at de-escalation and reaching peaceful solutions. It further pointed to Kuwait’s inherent right to take the necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve its security and stability, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
