The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemns repeated Iranian attacks on its territory, as well as on the territories of Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan.

Manama, July 17 (KUNA) -- The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Friday strong condemnation and rejection of the repeated, despicable Iranian attacks that targeted civilian and vital facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and Jordan with missiles and drones. It described these attacks as a serious escalation that threatens the safety of civilians, regional security, and stability, and as a blatant violation of the rules of international law, the UN Charter, and principles of good neighborliness.

In a statement, the ministry affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with sister countries and its support for their right to take all lawful measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect citizens and residents on their territories, in accordance with international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the Joint Defense Agreement of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

It expressed appreciation for the competence of the Bahrain Defense Force and the air defenses of regional countries, and their high readiness to confront the despicable Iranian attacks and defend the sovereignty of their states and the gains of their peoples.

The ministry renewed Bahrain’s call on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take firm and deterrent measures to compel Iran to halt its treacherous hostile actions, ensure the security, safety, and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and hold it fully accountable under international law, the UN Charter, Security Council Resolution 2817, and Human Rights Council Resolution 1/61, thereby enhancing security, stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region and worldwide.
