U.S. Central Command: Completion of the sixth consecutive round of military strikes against Iran

Washington, July 17 (KUNA) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday night the completion of a round of offensive strikes carried out against Iran in response to the targeting of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement, CENTCOM said that U.S. forces launched precision-guided munitions via fighter aircraft, drones, and warships, striking dozens of Iranian military targets in the latest wave of attacks against multiple sites in Iran. The statement added that the U.S. strikes targeted coastal surveillance sites, air defense systems, military logistics infrastructure, and naval capabilities, and that the United States would continue to undermine Iran’s military capabilities and hold Iran accountable for the recent attacks on commercial navigation. CENTCOM noted that more than 50,000 members of the U.S. armed forces are deployed across the Middle East and are “on high alert, vigilant, and ready” to execute orders from the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
