Baghdad, July 16 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Embassy in Iraq on Thursday renewed its warning to U.S. citizens against traveling to Iraq and urged those already in the country to maintain the highest levels of vigilance. In a statement, the embassy said that following the drone attacks, supported by Iran, on Erbil on Wednesday, U.S. citizens in Iraq are advised to maintain the highest levels of vigilance, follow local media, and comply with the instructions of local authorities. It warned that “travel disruptions and airspace closures could occur at any time with short notice.” The embassy reminded its citizens of the Level 4 travel advisory previously issued, which advises against travel to Iraq due to terrorism, kidnapping, armed conflict, civil unrest, and the limited ability of the U.S. government to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Iraq.
