Washington, July 15 (KUNA) -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks today, Tuesday, with Colombia’s president-elect, José Manuel Restrepo, on the future of bilateral relations between the United States and Colombia following the recent elections. The U.S. State Department said in a statement that Secretary Rubio met with the Colombian president-elect “to discuss the future of bilateral relations between the United States and Colombia following the recent elections.” The statement clarified that Rubio emphasized the Trump administration’s desire to work closely with the incoming government to strengthen economic ties and bilateral and regional security cooperation.
