(Sentcom): Launch of the second round of military strikes on Iran

Washington, July 15 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today, Wednesday, the commencement of a second round of military strikes against Iran, aimed at undermining its capacity to target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement, CENTCOM said, “U.S. forces began operations at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time today, including a second wave of strikes against Iran.” The statement clarified that these strikes target Iranian military capabilities used to threaten ships freely navigating the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier today, CENTCOM announced the diversion of two commercial vessels that had attempted to breach the blockade imposed on Iranian ports.
