Britain announces additional military aid to Ukraine

London, July 15 (KUNA) -- Britain announced on Wednesday the provision of additional military aid to Ukraine, consisting of artillery barrels valued at 61 million pounds sterling ($82.2 million). The British Ministry of Defence stated in a press release that 150 artillery barrels, with calibers of 105 and 155 millimeters and manufactured in Britain, are being gradually delivered to Ukrainian forces, with four of them already having arrived in Ukraine. The statement noted that Sheffield Forgemasters, a facility owned by BAE Systems, is responsible for manufacturing the artillery components being sent to Ukraine. It further clarified that last year the government invested 420 million pounds ($566.4 million) in this facility to strengthen national independent capabilities in steel production for defense purposes, including artillery barrels and nuclear submarines.
