Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the (Houthi) attack on Saudi Arabia's southern region

Aden, July 14 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Tuesday the missile attack launched by the Houthi militia against the southern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement, the ministry characterized the Houthi attack as “a continuation of the militia’s policy of dragging Yemen into conflicts that serve the Iranian agenda and undermine peace and stability efforts in the region.” The statement affirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, expressing Yemen’s rejection, both by its leadership and people, of such practices that do not represent it. The statement clarified that “the actions of the terrorist Houthi militia do not serve the interests of Yemeni citizens nor contribute to alleviating their suffering; rather, they are part of attempts to undermine state institutions and threaten the peace efforts made by the Yemeni government and its regional and international partners.” Yemen reaffirmed its commitment to the peace option, emphasizing that it would not allow its dedication to peace to be used as a cover for violating its sovereignty or overstepping its constitutional institutions, while noting that Yemen would continue to take all lawful measures to protect its security and the interests of its people in accordance with international law. Earlier, on Monday, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the leadership of the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, announced on the X platform that air defenses intercepted ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the southern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
