CENTCOM announces further strikes against Iran

Washington, July 14 (KUNA) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday the launch of additional military strikes against Iran, coinciding with the imminent implementation of a blockade on Iranian ports. In a statement, CENTCOM said its forces “began at 3 p.m. today (Eastern U.S. time) an additional round of strikes against Iran.” The statement added that the U.S. strikes aim to continue undermining Iran’s capacity to attack commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. It clarified that this round of strikes comes as U.S. forces prepare to resume a naval blockade on Iranian ports and coastal areas, which is set to take effect at 4 p.m. (Eastern U.S. time).
