Saudi Arabia condemns the targeting of Kuwaiti facilities and sites

Riyadh, July 14 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, Tuesday, expressed its strongest condemnation and rejection of the targeting of several Kuwaiti facilities and sites, particularly Kuwaiti border centers and an offshore drilling platform belonging to Kuwait Oil Company, as well as the attacks on the General Consulate of Kuwait in the city of Basra. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the targeting of two Emirati oil tankers while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran’s continued threats to the security and stability of the region by targeting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Qatar. The ministry reiterated the Kingdom’s firm rejection of Iran’s violation of the sovereignty of sister states, its continued destabilizing behavior toward the security and stability of the region, and its breaches of the principles of international law, the UN Charter, the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the rules of good neighborliness. The statement added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds Iran responsible for the consequences of its continued commission of these brazen attacks, calling on Iran to immediately halt these violations to preserve the security, stability, and integrity of the region. The Kingdom reaffirmed its full solidarity with sister states in the measures they are taking to safeguard their sovereignty. (End) A.S. / A.M.S.
