Moscow, July 14 (KUNA) -- The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday the targeting of military-industrial facilities and logistical infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and the Odesa region in southwestern Ukraine. In a statement, the ministry said the strikes hit the “Radio Izmeritel” facility in Kyiv, alongside the “Ukrarmotek” factory and other military-industrial companies in Kyiv involved in missile production, as part of what it described as operations aimed at undermining Ukraine’s military capabilities.

In the Odesa region, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the strikes targeted infrastructure facilities at the Yuzhny port, including a cargo ship inside the port and an Ukrainian oil tanker it claimed was en route from the Chornomorsk port to the Odesa port.

These strikes come amid a continuous escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, characterized by long-range attacks targeting industrial, military, and logistical infrastructure deep within the territories of both countries, amid ongoing military operations and exchanges of drone and missile strikes.

The Yuzhny port, located near the city of Odesa on the Black Sea, is one of Ukraine’s largest commercial ports and plays a crucial role in shipping and logistics. Meanwhile, the “Neptune” anti-ship missile system is among the most prominent naval missile systems developed by Ukraine and has been used during the ongoing war. (End) Dan / A.M.S.
