UAE strongly condemns continued attacks on Kuwait’s consulate in Basra

Abu Dhabi, July 13 (KUNA) -- The United Arab Emirates today, Monday, strongly condemned and expressed its deepest disapproval of the continued attacks targeting the Kuwaiti Consulate General in the Iraqi city of Basra. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, reiterated the UAE’s firm rejection of such attacks, emphasizing the necessity of protecting diplomatic missions and their personnel in accordance with international laws and conventions, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. It further stated that the UAE has called on the Iraqi government to fulfill its legal obligations to ensure the security of the consulate and its staff, to investigate the circumstances surrounding these attacks, to guarantee that they are not repeated, and to take the necessary legal measures to hold those responsible accountable.
