Conclusion of the Chinese-Russian joint naval exercises "Common Sea 2026"

Beijing, July 13 (KUNA) -- The Chinese-Russian joint naval exercises “Joint Sea 2026” concluded today, Monday, at a military port in Qinghai, eastern China. Xinhua News Agency reported that Russian and Chinese forces conducted joint naval patrols in Pacific waters and successfully completed all scheduled training tasks. The agency clarified that the exercises, themed “Cooperation to Counter Maritime Threats,” involved 10 warships, including the Russian missile cruiser Varyag, frigate Resky, and submarine Ofa, as well as Chinese destroyers Kai Feng, Anshan, and Wu Hu, along with shipborne helicopters and marine infantry elements. It noted that participating forces from both sides carried out live-fire drills encompassing joint reconnaissance, air defense, anti-missile operations, maritime strikes, and joint submarine rescue operations, underscoring that these drills helped deepen mutual strategic trust, consolidate the traditional friendship between the two militaries, and enhance their capacity to jointly handle maritime crises.
