Al-Adan Hospital Launches Knee Replacement Program and Expands Specialized Orthopedic Surgery Services

Kuwait City, July 13 (KUNA) – Al-Adan Hospital, under the Ministry of Health, launched today a knee joint replacement surgery program under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Harbi, head of the orthopedic surgery department, as part of ongoing efforts to develop orthopedic services and expand the scope of specialized surgeries at the hospital.

The Ministry of Health said in a press release that the program saw the successful performance of the first two knee joint replacement surgeries, with two additional procedures to be carried out as part of the program. This initiative aims to enhance the hospital’s readiness to provide such specialized surgeries and offer advanced treatment options to patients in line with the latest medical practices.

It added that the medical team successfully performed specialized surgeries for hip and ankle joint replacements, an achievement that reflects the competence of the medical staff and the advanced capabilities provided by the hospital, underscoring its ability to deliver specialized surgical services in accordance with the highest quality standards.

The orthopedic surgery department has so far completed approximately 200 knee joint surgery cases, including joint replacements, deformity corrections, and sports injury treatments, as part of a continuous development plan that applies the latest medical technologies and practices to improve the quality of healthcare.
