London, July 12 (KUNA) -- Italian player Jannik Sinner claimed the men’s singles title at the Wimbledon Open tennis championship today on Sunday, defeating German Alexander Zverev in the final in three sets to one. Zverev, the world No. 2, started the match by taking the first set 7-6, before Sinner, the world No. 1, turned the tables to win three consecutive sets with scores of 7-6, 6-3, and 6-4, securing the match and the title. With this victory, Sinner retained his Wimbledon title, which he won last year, and increased his Grand Slam tally to six titles, following his wins at the 2024 and 2025 Australian Open, the 2024 US Open, and the 2025 French Open (Roland Garros).
