Eight Palestinians martyred in scattered Israeli occupation airstrikes on the Gaza Strip

Gaza, July 12 (KUNA) -- The health authorities in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that eight Palestinians were killed as a result of a series of airstrikes carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft on various areas in the Gaza Strip. The health authorities stated in a bulletin that four Palestinians were killed and several others were injured in an airstrike conducted by an Israeli occupation drone that targeted a blacksmith’s workshop in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in western Gaza City. The authorities added that, following the strike, occupation forces issued evacuation orders for the residential block surrounding the workshop’s location, before F-16 warplanes returned to launch a new strike with three missiles targeting the same area, causing widespread destruction. They clarified that in the southern part of the Strip, one Palestinian was killed in an airstrike that targeted a tent sheltering displaced persons in western Khan Younis, while another Palestinian died from injuries sustained in a previous Israeli shelling of the city. The health authorities indicated that in the central part of the Strip, two Palestinians were killed: one, a young girl, was shot by Israeli occupation forces, while the other died from injuries sustained in a previous strike targeting the Al-Bureij refugee camp. In a subsequent development, Israeli occupation aircraft carried out an airstrike on the roof of a house in the Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City, with no immediate reports of casualties amid widespread panic among residents. These strikes come amid the continuation of Israeli military operations in various areas of the Gaza Strip, accompanied by further casualties and extensive damage to homes and property. (End)
