State of Qatar bids farewell to the Amir al-Walid Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa; its Amir leads funeral prayers for the deceased

Doha, July 12 (KUNA) -- The State of Qatar bid farewell to the late Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 74. The Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, led the funeral prayer for the “great loss of the nation” at the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque in the capital, Doha. The funeral prayer was also led by the Deputy Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, along with sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and large crowds of citizens and residents. Earlier, the Diwan Amiri (Emiri Diwan) announced that the Emir of Qatar would receive condolences at the Lusail Palace starting tomorrow, Monday, for three days. It also announced a general mourning period of four days, during which work in ministries, government entities, and public institutions would be suspended. (End) S S S / M S A
